親愛的小朋友：
Thank you for the wonderful pictures of your community! When I saw them I
felt like I was visiting Taiwan. The only problem is your temperature is a
lot warmer there than it is here today. Our high today is 37 degrees and it
has been snowing a little. (smile)
謝謝你們寄給我這麼棒「家→學校」的照片！當我看到照片時，我覺得我好像身處在台灣。唯一的問題是，台灣的溫度比這裡溫暖許多：今天這邊的最高溫是華氏37度（約攝氏2.8度），而且經開始下雪了。（^_^）
I love
your maps. You did a great job on them! I can print them on my computer and
find my way to your school. I wonder what it would take to get from the
United States to Taiwan. Do you know what I would need to get there? What
would I need to do to leave my country and get to your country?
我非常喜歡你們的地圖。你們做的真是太棒了！我可以從電腦上將地圖印下來，照著地圖上的指示走，我就可以找到你們的學校了。我在想，從美國到台灣須要多久的時間？你們知道我須要乘坐哪些交通工具才能到達台灣嗎？我需要經過哪些手續才能離開美國和進入你們的國家呢？
I would
enjoy your plants and animals. I think you would enjoy ours, too! We have a
lot of cone bearing plants around our school. Do you know what a cone
bearing plant is? Right now our plants are dormant because we are in the
winter season.
我很喜歡你們的植物和動物；我相信你們也會喜歡我們的！我們學校附近種了很多的「針葉樹」，你們知道什麼是 「針葉樹」嗎？還有，因為現在是冬天我們的植物全都是休眠的狀態。
I have
questions for you: 我有幾個問題想要問你們：
1. Did you take the pictures of the plants?
2. Did you take a walking field trip?
3. Where did you find your plants in the community?
4. Can you use the shapes you learned in class to create a picture of
plants and animals? (Remember: If you try to create a picture I want to see
it.)

2 你們有做田野調查嗎？
3 你們在社區的那個地方找到這些植物的？

Well,
I better close for now because I have a holiday tomorrow and we are going
to visit my Dad. (He lives three hours away from my house.) Tomorrow is
Thanksgiving Day. It is a day where we visit family and friends. We have a
turkey dinner and thank God for our blessings. One of the blessings I will
share with my family tomorrow is you! I am thanksul for Taiwan, your
teacher's friendship, technology, the opportunity to learn, and YOU...My
Taiwan students!
