1. heat [hit] 名、動：熱度、加熱

Cook the vegetable on a high heat.

(用高溫的火來烹調疏菜。)

Should I heat up some milk for breakfast?

(需要我幫你熱一些牛奶當早餐嗎?)

2. cool [kul] 形：涼爽的 (溫暖的：warm)

It is cool in fall.

(秋天的天氣是涼爽的。)

It is a bit cool here. Let me close the window.

(這裡有點涼。讓我關上窗戶吧。)

3. July [dʒuˋlaɪ] 名 ：七月

Yesterday was July 20^th.

(昨天是七月二十號。)

My birthday is in July.

(我的生日是在七月。)

4. boat [bot] 名：船

We went to Green Island by boat last summer.

(去年暑假我們坐船到綠島。)

She will take a boat from Taipei to Hualien.

(她會搭船從台北到花蓮。)

5. sea [si] 名：海

We can swim in the sea.

(我們可以在海中游泳。)

My grandparents’ house stands by the sea.

(我祖父母的房子座落於海邊。)

6. along [əˋlɔŋ] 介：沿著

You can walk along the street and you’ll find the store.

(你可以沿著這條街走，然後你就會找到那家店。)

I always walk along the stream to her home.

(我總是沿著這條溪流去她家。)

7. drop [drɑp] 動：滴下、落下；名：(一)滴

Don't drop Coke on the carpet.

(別把可樂滴在地毯上。)

I felt a drop of rain.

(我感覺到一滴雨。)

8. grow[gro]：種植 發展

My grandfather grows vegetables for himself.

(我祖父自己種蔬菜。)

The weather there is nice and warm all the year, so trees and flowers grow

well in all seasons.

(那裡的天氣全年好且溫暖，所以四季樹和花開得很好。)

9. dot [dɑt] 名：點

My dress is white with blue dots.

(我的洋裝是白色而且有藍點。)

At the end of a sentence is a dot.

(句子的結尾是一個點。)

10. kill [kɪl] 形：殺　(kill-killed-killed)

Saturday’s bomb killed two people.

(星期六的炸彈殺死二個人。)

The Black Death killed many people.

(黑死病殺死很多人。)
